Arcade mode allows players to compete in various game mode challenges, and to play in two player split-screen multiplayer. This features four modes: Capture the Flag, Cruise, Head to Head, and Waypoint. Players can again compete for pink slips from various racers. Each named racer has three variants of the same car, and the player earns these with successive wins. Each new version of the car is an improved version of the previous car. Environments have many destructible objects such as trees, bushes, lampposts and trash cans. Each locale features police cars that will attempt to arrest the player based on their illegal actions. Test Drive Unlimited - 2007 It was a Japanese car freak’s wet dream, with plenty of JDM sports cars all able to be modified with brand-name aftermarket parts AND visual upgrades too. Not only that, but the virtual ‘garage’ that housed your collection could be customised too, which was just plain cool back in the early noughties. The cel-shaded graphics also imparted an anime aura to the whole thing, and made it more than just another ho-hum racing game.

The arcade racer has many modes with different objectives that can all be played together in World Tour mode. But the primary gameplay mechanic of Takedown is how players can race against their opponents while simultaneously trying to drive them off the road or destroy their vehicle. From Road Rage mode to Crash mode, the game is all about creating as much destruction as possible with highly detailed collisions that had never been seen in games before. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Going through the RPG-esque adventure mode is something that everyone should enjoy if they're in the mood for a blend of exploration and racing, although the pace may not be for everyone. It's somewhat of a slog in terms of meeting everyone, racing all the races, upgrading everything and changing up vehicle looks over time. It is a joy, however, that when you're in the mood to simply race, Road Trip has you covered with a race-only mode too.
