The winners of the Wrestle-offs will compete at the 2023 Pan American Olympic Games Qualifier in Acupulco, Mexico, February 28 – March 1, 2024. Pan American nations may enter an athlete only at weight classes where their nation has not yet qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. The semifinals winners from the Pan American Olympic Games Qualifier in each weight class qualify their nation to compete at the Olympic Games at that weight class. Wrestling game play WrestleQuest gives me that option, largely because nothing you do in-game has to take all that long if you don't want it to. Whether completing a quest or wrestling a match, there are breaks in play pretty often. Yes, there’s treasure to find, but finding it isn’t integral to progression. Part of what made the WWE franchise’s transition to current-gen so disastrous is that the series had almost achieved perfection with WWE 2K14. The story mode featured more than 40 of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time. That meant the inclusion of wrestlers from Big John Studd through Goldberg for the ultimate WWE roster. Even most of the major members of the NWO were available via DLC. Add in gameplay that was smoother than ever and a Streak mode that lets you either conquer or defend the Undertaker’s legendary WrestleMania streak, and you easily have the best wrestling game in years. Celebrating the Best of the Virtual Squared Circle Still, The Main Event should have been a stepping stone for bigger Konami arcade wrestling games to come. When Rumbleverse released in August last year, you might have mistaken it for one of the many other live service games that suddenly arrive and are just as quickly forgotten: think Knockout City, Hyperscape (RIP), Rocket Arena. It certainly bears that distinctive Fortnite-aping style, but unlike Fortnite, it has clearly gained no traction at all: after only six months, the game will stop receiving updates on February 28.
